1st carft show of 2011

First craft show of the season is tomorrow….. I can’t believe I am looking forward to getting up at 5am! I am never up before 7am and then it is a few cups of coffee before I get moving. lol  I will post pictures and how we did and what the big sellers were this year. I would love to know what the best sellers for you are. For the last 2 years I sold a bunch of the scrapbook purses, you can find the tutorial here. I sale them for $5.00 and I ran out both shows we did.  This year we are doing 3 shows Sandia High School 11/19, LaCueva High School 12/3 and Eisenhower Middle School 12/10. Would love to see you there.

Mini Notebook cover tutorial

I was asked over on SCS for the directions for this little notebook cover so I thought I'd post it here too. I am almost ready for balloon fiesta, doing the last of the food shopping today after Robin and I go to breakfast. I know this is our walking day but we are starting the party early.lol Have a great rest of your week.

4 ½” x 8 ½” Pumpkin Pie card stock score at 2 ½”, 2 ¾”, 5 ¾”and 6”
4 3/8” x 3” designer Paper (DP)
2” x 2” White card stock (CS)
2 ¼’ x 2 ½ “Pixie Pink card stock (CS)
2 ½” x 2 ¾” Old Olive Card Stock (CS)
DSP Tablet topper 3”x 2”
1. Fold on score lines, wrap around the notepad and sticky strip together adhere the 4 3/8 x 3 “ DSP on the side with the seam of the wrapper, this will be the front.
2. Stamp the image on the white CS. Adhere to the 2 2/2” x 2 ½” CS and adhere the 2 ½” x 2 ¾” piece of CS. Adhere this to front of notepad wrapper.
3. Adhesive the tablet topper DP to notepad. (I use any type of glue I have on hand).
4. Punch ½ of a Scallop Circle Punch in (DS) paper, attach to the center top of tablet.
5. Use the Crop a dile to put a whole through the top of the notepad, insert ribbon and tie.

A quick update kind of a mini Tutorial I guess

I had several people ask how to make the little glass necklace. Well here is a very quick lesion.
You will need:
1”x 1” piece of clear glass (this one has rounded corners and smooth edges I have not been able to find them at any craft store so if anyone finds them please let me know)
Clear water based lacquer (or glue that will dry clear)
1” x 1” photo, color copy or stamped image
1 ½ ” x 1 ½ ” piece of decorative paper
Jewelry loop

Ok use the lacquer to glue the decorative paper to the back of the image pretty sides out. Put 5 dots of the lacquer on the back of the glass (make it look like the #5 dice) and place on top of the image. Cut the image along all sides, I start with the corners first then trim the sides. Glue the jewelry loop on the back with some very strong glue I used E-6000. Now let dry for 24 hours…. I did have some bleeding on the photo of the boys so next time I will spray the inkjet image with some kind of sealer. Hope that all makes sense, if not please send me a comment and I will try it again. Have a great Weekend!!!!!! I am sure I will be able to find some stamping time so it will be a good one for me.

Black Friday Something Challenge On PCP

This was another fun challenge over on PCP you can find it here. I knew what I wanted to make for this one right away. I just love these little purses and you cannot go shopping without your purse. You can find a tutorial here.

Purse Scrapbook

1 piece 12”X12” paper
1 piece of contrasting cardstock
1 piece 8” matching ribbon
Card stock to embellish inside of purse

The black lines are the score lines.

Score the 12x12 paper 4” on each side
Score the 4 outside boxes from corner to corner, and the middle box from center to corner as seen in photo.

Fold all 4 sides at score lines toward the inside unfold.

Fold 4 corners at score lines toward inside.

Fold 2 middle outside boxes at score line.

Cut flap out of contrasting cardstock, 4”X5” Score at 2” and 2 ¼” from backside. Round front 2 corners.

Add ribbon at the score lines, Attach flap to back at first score line.

That bit of gule on the back should not be there. lol

Table Top Scrapbook

You can make this in different sizes.
12”x12” paper = 6”x6” finished
8”x8” paper = 4”x4” finished
6”x6” paper = 3”x3” finished
I think you get the picture.
This example is 8”x8” paper as is the pink one a few blogs down.

4 pieces 8” x8” paper
2 pieces 4” x4” chip board (for cover)

Score the paper at 4” turn and score at 4” again.

Score from inside corner to outside corner of the 2 bottom squares.

Cut centerline between 2 bottom squares.

Fold mountain and valley folds.

Tape to form ½ cube.

Make 4 of these ½ cubes and glue together ( leave the front and back unglued so you can add the covers)
