Graduation Cake

 

A graduation cake for my son's girlfriend. Not great but it is my very first time working with fondant. The top of the had should of been smaller but it was yummy anyway.

Some cakes I made for Mother's Day. I am having such a good time taking the cake class and all the guys at work love it too.

My last buttercream cake class

Had such a good time at this cake class I am going to take another one starting next week on fondant and gum paste. I have never liked cake with fondant on it but they sure look pretty. My family is really tired of buttercream too. They will never look at cake the same way again. lol  

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, we had a great day of church and family - It doesn't get any better than that. I made this cake for Easter, it was fast and easy. It's a spice cake with pumpkin moose filling. yummmm can't wait to cut into it.

Baby crib favor box

I am working on some ideas for my nieces baby show, I made this SCAL2 file. It needs a little work but for the most part I am happy with it. Thought they might be cute with some little candies in them. I have been dieting so anything with candy sounds good to me. How cute are these!!!!!

What you need to make them:

12” black elastic
Rubber band hair tie
Silk Flower
Buttons
Needle and thread
These work well for the journal size books but can also go larger of smaller because of the elastic. They can be made with ribbon and will still have a bit of stretch because of the hair tie. I have seen these a few places so not sure who I CASEd them from but they are really cute and easy, I made all of these last night while I watched TV.

On the ones I Cased they used the flower to hold the hair tie (just looped around the flower), I found it easier to sew a button on the back so the hair tie just hooks around it.
